Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce the addition of Aderonke Ajala, MD, to CANCER CARE PARTNERSHIP, a partnership of Mount Nittany Health and Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute.

Located in the Lance and Ellen Shaner Cancer Pavilion, CANCER CARE PARTNERSHIP provides state-of-the-art, personalized care for outpatient hematology, medical oncology, and patients requiring infusion services. Through CANCER CARE PARTNERSHIP, the oncology practice/infusion center of choice in Centre County, patients benefit from the combined resources and expertise of Mount Nittany Health and Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

“I am looking forward to working in the unique partnership between Mount Nittany Health and Penn State Health to give my patients the best cancer care possible using up-to-date treatments, such as targeted treatments and immunotherapy,” says Dr. Ajala. “Cancer care is constantly evolving, with exciting new treatments and therapies being developed every day.”

Dr. Ajala is board-certified in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine. She earned her medical degree from the University of Lagos College of Medicine, Nigeria. She comes to Mount Nittany Health from the Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, in Williamsport.

Dr. Ajala completed her internal medicine residency at Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC and her clinical fellowship in hematology and oncology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, New Hampshire.

“A cancer diagnosis is life-changing,” she says. “I’m blessed to be able to help my patients and share their journey with them—from diagnosis to treatment and survivorship—and all the highs and lows in between. As I care for patients, I keep in mind to treat others the way I would like to be treated if I were in their shoes. Each day is a gift, and I try to make the best use of each opportunity the day brings.”

Outside the office, Dr. Ajala enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and daughter. She also loves reading novels, traveling, watching movies, and soccer during her spare time.
