Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce that Elaine Matisko has joined Mount Nittany Health Internal Medicine at our Park Avenue location.

"Mount Nittany Health has been a pillar of healthcare in Happy Valley since before I was born in Philipsburg," said Elaine. "I see continual growth potential both in services and professional staff careers. I look forward to the challenges in the next phase of my career at Mount Nittany Health."

Elaine earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Notre Dame of Maryland. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing from the Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where she became an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She has worked at various healthcare providers across Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Georgia, including previous experience working in the Emergency Department of Mount Nittany Medical Center.

“I am motivated to provide the best healthcare to every patient,” Elaine said. "I use my education, training, experience, and strong healthcare professional teamwork to ensure that all patients get the best healthcare in the region.”

Inspired by her husband’s 35-year military career, Elaine is motivated to serve others as he did. When not treating patients, Elaine, and her husband travel. Together they have toured most of Europe and the United States, recently visiting Alaska and Hawaii.

Elaine’s grandmother initially inspired her to become a nurse, and later, a nurse practitioner. Elaine said, "She was the strength, wisdom, and mentor through most of my life until I met my husband.”

Elaine will provide primary care services in Mount Nittany Health Internal Medicine at the Park Avenue location. Internal Medicine focuses on prevention, wellness and long-term management of chronic illnesses for adult patients.

Please join us in welcoming Elaine to the Mount Nittany Health family.

Elaine Matisko, MSN, CRNP
