Today, we are caring for 38 COVID positive inpatients at Mount Nittany Medical Center, ranging in age from 22 to 94. Our average daily census of COVID positive inpatients has climbed from 27 in September to 34 in October – the third highest average daily census per month in the pandemic. In October, our total COVID hospitalizations to date is 122.

“We continue to care for a very high number of people who are hospitalized with COVID,” said Dr. Tiffany Cabibbo, Executive VP Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Mount Nittany Health. “This is ongoing trend is impacting our community and our local healthcare providers every day. We continue to monitor the situation daily and adjust operations as needed, including rescheduling elective surgeries that require an overnight stay.”
