Mount Nittany Health celebrated the latest milestone in the construction of their new Outpatient Center at Toftrees West with the traditional skytopping ceremony, where the final steel beam was ‘topped off’ to complete the building’s steel frame. Before the beam was placed, it was painted white and signed by Mount Nittany Health team members and the construction crew members. It was then adorned with both a tree and flag, as is tradition.

Mount Nittany Health’s new Outpatient Center builds on our commitment to award-winning patient care and will allow us to provide greater, more convenient access to a range of outpatient healthcare services in a single location. It will also help meet the increased demand for patient-centered care by bringing even more diverse services and highly-skilled providers to our health system.

“We’re thrilled to reach this critical step in the construction process,” said Kathleen Rhine, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mount Nittany Health. “It is great to see the progress on the Outpatient Center, which will provide greater access to comprehensive outpatient healthcare services in one convenient location, and will bring together more than 60 Mount Nittany Health providers and more 160 employees.”

Earlier in March, Mount Nittany Health employees were invited to leave their mark on the project by signing the beam and viewing updated renderings of the floor plan and spaces in the Outpatient Center. Employees noted their excitement about the completion of the building, as the new space offers a spacious, state-of-the-art environment for both patients and employees.

According to Christopher Hester, MD, Clinical Officer, Mount Nittany Health, “At Mount Nittany Health, our primary focus is providing excellent care to the residents of Centre County and the surrounding regions.  This new state of the art facility will also enhance our ability to continue to attract top level providers from around the country to continue our mission of ‘Healthier People. Stronger Community.’”
