Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce that Zachary Kimble, PA-C, has joined Mount Nittany Physician Group Orthopedics as a physician assistant.

Kimble studied kinesiology at The Pennsylvania State University and earned his bachelor’s degree in physician assistant studies from Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a 4.0 grade point average. He was previously employed in adult critical care medicine at Geisinger Medical Center.

Born and raised in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, Kimble shares that he got to know a number of Mount Nittany Health providers and staff during his time working as an emergency medical technician, prior to his studies to become a physician assistant (PA).

“They all seemed to really enjoy being employed here, so when I became a PA, it was natural to want to work here,” he said. “Orthopedics has also been an interest of mine since my senior year of high school when I shadowed an orthopedic PA. When this position became available I jumped at the opportunity and I'm excited to get started.”

On his philosophy of care as a healthcare provider, Kimble says, “I try to look at the big picture with my patients and advocate for the best care strategy for them. At the end of the day, we want to do things 'for' people, not 'to' people. It falls on us as providers to draw that distinction and to be honest and realistic with our patients.”

Kimble values spending time with his fiancée, 8-year-old son and the family’s year-old German Shorthaired Pointer. He and his fiancée are also expecting a daughter in September. In his free time he enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, camping, hunting – especially archery – and canoeing. He particularly appreciates spending time in nature and has recently taken up fly fishing.
