Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce the addition of Amanda Kochasic, PA-C, to Mount Nittany Physician Group Dermatology. Amanda comes to Mount Nittany Health after completing an advanced practice clinician dermatology fellowship at Penn State Health in Hershey, PA.

“I find great satisfaction when seeing my patients improve during follow-up visits,” Amanda says. “I treat every patient the way I would want my family members to be treated when seeing a healthcare provider.”

Mount Nittany Physician Group’s dermatology practice offers expert care and the latest technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair, and nails for both adults and children. The team evaluates and treats a variety of common and uncommon skin conditions, including acne, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, skin cancers, and skin allergies.

Amanda earned her Master of Medical Science degree from Salus University, Elkins Park, PA, and her Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, Greensburg, PA.

She is a member of Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants as well as the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She hopes to become a Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) Diplomate Fellow. The SDPA Diplomate Fellowship is the premier training program for PAs in the field of dermatology.

During her advanced practice clinician fellowship at Penn State Health, Amanda participated in a weekly Acute Care Clinic and elective rotations of skin oncology, rheumatology-dermatology, dermatological and Mohs surgeries, and inpatient consultations.

“I was very impressed with the Dermatology Department at Mount Nittany Health, and I wanted to pursue a career in a dermatology position closer to home,” says Amanda. “The move to State College put me closer to family located just outside of Pittsburgh.”

Outside the office, Amanda enjoys camping, kayaking, paddle boarding, and hiking. She lives in Port Matilda with her fiancé, Justin, and their recently adopted pet beagle, Tessa. An avid animal lover, Amanda hopes to volunteer her time at the local animal shelter.
