Contact tracing: Mount Nittany Health and Penn State College of Medicine team up to help fight the spread of COVID-19
Learn MorePeople in close contact with someone who is infected with COVID-19 are at higher risk of becoming infected themselves, and of potentially further infecting others. Monitoring these contacts after exposure to an infected person helps them get appropriate care and prevents further transmission of the virus. This monitoring process – called contact tracing – includes three steps: case interview, contact identification, and contact follow-up.
