My wife and I have had 3 health issues for which we tried to get an appt. w/our PCP, and in each case, no appts. were available for 2-3 months. We were referred to specialists by our PCP instead, b/c the wait for them was only 1.5-2 months. What is the point of a PCP if they aren't actually serving as our PRIMARY care physician? They are really secondary or tertiary if we're told to see a specialist - or GO TO THE ER OR URGENT care - and than later follow-up with our PCP. For something clearly non-urgent but significant, such as a fast-growing lump that needs to be scanned via ultrasound.
