Lynn E. Diven, RD, CDCES, LD

Lynn E. Diven, RD, CDCES, LD, provides adult diabetes care and education for patients. Supporting individuals living with diabetes and making a positive difference in their lives is what motivates her and reinforces her love for her career. Her connection to the region runs deep — her husband, siblings and son all attended Penn State, and her family has long‑standing ties to the area.

One of the key messages Lynn shares with patients is to focus on consistency rather than perfection. She respects each person’s goals, culture and lifestyle, and meets them where they are, whether they’re ready for change or simply need support. Her communication style begins with listening.

Lynn creates a non‑judgmental environment where patients can openly share their goals and challenges, and together they set one or two realistic steps forward. She also acknowledges the very real burden and burnout that can accompany diabetes, helping patients feel understood and supported.

Outside of work, Lynn finds joy in spending time with family and friends. She loves being outdoors, floating on Keuka Lake, walking in the woods with her Lab, gardening, planting perennials and watching the wildlife that visits her yard.
