About Me

Elizabeth (Liz) Wright, PhD, FNP-BC, is a primary care provider with a deep-rooted connection to the community. Born at Mount Nittany Medical Center and raised in the State College area, Liz deeply appreciates Mount Nittany Health's healthcare services. Her care philosophy centers around inclusive and patient-centered care, acknowledging the individual, environmental and societal aspects that impact health.

Liz earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Penn State College of Nursing and Schreyer Honors College. She pursued further education, obtaining her Master's and Doctorate in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She was part of the inaugural cohort of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Future of Nursing Scholars. Her commitment to ongoing learning led her to complete postdoctoral training at the Penn State College of Nursing Sexual Assault Forensic Examination-Telehealth (SAFE-T) Center and earn a post-graduate certificate in the Family and Individual Across the Lifespan Nurse Practitioner program from Thomas Jefferson University.

"Working with individuals who experience trauma has inspired me to prioritize listening and empathizing with patients as they navigate how to keep themselves safe and healthy in their day to day lives,” said Liz.

While her primary focus lies in providing comprehensive care, Liz’s research expertise in trauma, domestic violence and sexual assault among young adults adds depth to her practice. Her dedication to community responses and resources aligns perfectly with Mount Nittany Health's commitment to holistic patient care.

Outside of her professional life, Liz is an avid runner and enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and two children. She shares a passion for sports, particularly Penn State and Philadelphia teams.

Elizabeth Wright is excellent. She listens, asks follow-up questions, is non-judgmental and doesn't rush patients. I felt like I had enough time to ask questions and discuss concerns without being rushed out the door like some providers.
