Dr. Schaffer earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from The College of William and Mary and a Doctor of Medicine from Penn State University College of Medicine. She completed both her Family Medicine Residency and her Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at UPMC St. Margaret in Pittsburgh, PA.
In her sports medicine practice, she takes special interests in performing ultrasound-guided procedures and managing non-operative orthopedic concerns. While in the family medicine clinic, she has additional passions for women’s health and dermatology, such as providing contraceptive services and conducting skin biopsies.
A former First Team Division I All-American collegiate athlete, Dr. Schaffer exchanged her soccer cleats for running shoes, a bike, and swim goggles to complete a half Iron Man Triathlon. She also enjoys going for hikes and playing card games with friends and family.
