About Me
Melanie Chaputa-Cherry, MD, is dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care for women throughout every phase of their lives. Specializing in general office gynecology and obstetric care, Dr. Chaputa-Cherry is committed to helping her patients achieve their best health and well-being.
Drawn to State College by her family’s strong ties to Penn State and the Centre Region, Dr. Chaputa-Cherry is thrilled to serve the community she now calls home. She focuses on building strong patient relationships by understanding not just their medical concerns, but also their family dynamics, interests and professional lives, recognizing how these aspects can impact overall health.
Dr. Chaputa-Cherry chose a career in medicine because of her passion for connecting with people from all walks of life. Her goal is to empower her patients through education and support, ensuring they feel confident in understanding their health and the care they receive. Known for her approachable and thorough communication style, she takes the time to address her patients’ questions in clear, accessible terms.
Outside of work, Dr. Chaputa-Cherry enjoys traveling, skiing, and spending time with her family and friends. She also loves exploring her creative side through a variety of craft projects.
