Wondering what to do with the kids this summer? As their schedules change from going to school every day to having daily free time, kids can struggle with the adjustment (Parents, too!) Here are a few tips to ease the transition and keep everyone happy over the summer:
Enroll kids in summer camps – sign the kids up for a camp for a few weeks. there are many types of affordable camps including sports, art, music, science, and faith-based camps. They can do something they already love or learn something new.
Create a schedule – a schedule will provide kids with a routine. Putting simple tasks like ‘make your bed’ and ‘clean your room’ as daily to-do items provide structure, gives kids a sense of accomplishment, and gets some chores done at the same time!
Day trips – Plan a few day trips as a family to take advantage of the warmer summer weather. Try bike riding at a new park, visiting a museum, or lounging at the local pool for an afternoon.
