John Seok, MD, Joins Mount Nittany Health Neurology

Mount Nittany Health is proud to introduce John H. Seok, MD, as a valued team member specializing in Neurology. Seok brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to exceptional patient care to our health system.

Seok’s decision to join Mount Nittany Health is rooted in his vision for growth and deep respect for our health system. He shares his perspective, saying, “I see Mount Nittany Health as having great potential to grow, and it is a highly respected among providers. I also wanted to join a health system committed to providing excellent clinical service.”

Seok believes in providing honest and evidence-based care to all patients, free from bias and solely focused on their well-being. He considers this commitment paramount in a healthcare landscape that is becoming increasingly complex.

Seok’s passion for helping patients on their journey to recovery and their trust in his medical expertise drove him to become a physician. He finds fulfillment in knowing that he can positively impact their lives.

With a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology (Summa Cum Laude) from Colgate University, he earned his medical degree from the State University of New York System (SUNY) Upstate Medical University. He served a residency in Neurology at the National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

As a board-certified general Neurologist, Seok specializes in treating various neurological conditions, including dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke, migraine, and muscle disorders. He is also interested in utilizing Botox treatments for different neurological conditions.

Beyond his medical practice, Seok enjoys a variety of hobbies including golf, scuba diving, and paragliding. He is a family man, married with a daughter who recently started college and a son in high school.

Seok’s unique qualifications include certification as an acupuncturist, and he is passionate about integrating Western and Eastern medicine to provide the best care for his patients. He is fluent in Korean, enhancing his ability to connect with a diverse patient population.

Seok’s journey includes a distinguished military career as a retired Navy Lieutenant. He has received combat awards for his deployment to Iraq and a Presidential Unit Citation for his military service.

With over 20 years of military healthcare provider experience, Seok brings a fresh perspective to patient care at Mount Nittany Health. He is excited about his new role as a civilian Neurologist at Mount Nittany Health Neurology, and we are equally happy to have him as part of our team.
