Mount Nittany Health is pleased to introduce Ashley Fannick, PA-C, a new provider specializing in Orthopedics.
Fannick’s decision to join Mount Nittany Health was strongly influenced by her deep community connections and the desire to work closer to home.
“I spent two years working in Lewistown, PA, and learned the significance of being a part of the local community,” said Fannick. “Mount Nittany Health’s reputation and the opportunity to be in State College were key factors in the decision to join this team.”
Fannick’s philosophy of care is built on her genuine love for patient care. She firmly believes in the significance of the patient-physician assistant relationship, noting that it goes beyond addressing medical issues to treat the whole person.
“I take pride in building meaningful patient relationships because they often have crucial insights about themselves, and with those insights, I’m able to treat patients holistically,” she said.
What motivates Fannick as a healthcare provider is her relationships with her patients and her passion for mending things.
“Working on my husband’s family farm brought out the hands-on nature in me,” Fannick said. “I take pride in the idea that I can help heal what’s not working and restore patients to health.”
Fannick practices in various orthopedic areas, including shoulder, hip, and knee care, shoulder replacements, fracture care, injection care, and hand and elbow procedures. Her experience includes specializing in spine treatments. Fannick also collaborates with athletic trainers and works closely with Kevin Wilson, MD, at Mount Nittany Health to provide comprehensive orthopedic care.
Fannick holds a Bachelor of Science from Saint Joseph’s University and a Master’s in Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from Lock Haven University.
Growing up in Schuylkill County, PA, Fannick learned hard work, dedication, and teamwork at a young age watching her family run their own small business. Today, Fannick’s life outside of work revolves around a farm that her husband’s family owns, where they raise Angus beef, horses, and other animals. Along with her husband, Ryan, she is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys activities like hunting, fishing, horseback riding, road trips, camping, and kayaking. Her border collie, Flynn, is her loyal companion.
Fannick is a valuable addition to the Mount Nittany Health team. We look forward to the positive impact she will make on our patients and the community.
