Lilian McKinley, MD, provides care to children through her work with Mount Nittany Health’s Pediatric Hospitalist group and Pediatric Outpatient practice. She is committed to supporting families and improving the health of her young patients.
Dr. McKinley earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and completed medical school at Columbia University. Her pediatric training included a residency at Seattle Children's Hospital and The University of Washington, where she gained valuable experience in caring for children of all ages. This foundation fuels her dedication to helping children grow into healthy, thriving individuals.
Dr. McKinley is inspired daily by the children she treats and their families. Their resilience motivates her, as does her collaboration with co-workers who share Mount Nittany Health’s mission to deliver exceptional care. “I enjoy helping children develop into healthy and thriving individuals,” Dr. McKinley shares.
Her specialties include newborn care and outpatient pediatrics. She has also contributed to maternal and female health research, demonstrating her commitment to the well-being of mothers and their children. With a background in adolescent medicine, Dr. McKinley understands the unique needs of teenagers, helping them navigate this important stage of life.
Family plays a central role in Dr. McKinley’s life. She is one of five siblings, and her father’s 30-year career as a pediatric intensivist inspired her to follow in his footsteps. Her family’s shared passion for medicine deepens their connection. They enjoy spending time together outdoors, vacationing and running.
Dr. McKinley’s involvement with the American Academy of Pediatrics during residency strengthened her dedication to advancing pediatric care, and she plans to remain active in the Pennsylvania chapter. Her fluency in Spanish allows her to connect with diverse families and ensure all children receive accessible, quality healthcare.
