About Me

As an emergency physician with special knowledge in sports medicine, Dr. Ferderber focuses on the care of active individuals, including athletes of all levels. He works with patients not only to enhance health and fitness, but also to prevent and manage injury and illness. His knowledge and expertise in sports medicine emphasizes wellness and the role of exercise in promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Ferderber earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Penn State, graduating with highest distinction. He then went on to Penn State’s College of Medicine in Hershey, PA, where he earned his medical degree and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, which recognizes those at the top of their medical class. He completed his postgraduate training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, graduating from his residency in Emergency Medicine and then his fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine.

When not working, Dr. Ferderber is “typically outside whenever possible, whether it’s biking, running, or going on hikes with my golden retriever.” He also enjoys playing cards and board games with family and friends and is refining his amateur chef skills in the kitchen.

I had never.met Dr. Ferderber and had a little trepidation about the whole process. I found him to have really good "bedside manner" and immediately put me at ease. He explained everything to me in thorough detail and patiently answered all my questions before moving forward with the procedure. I never felt pushed.

Procedure very simple. Expecting more pain than I had. I would have this procedure done when ever needed.
