Erin L. Gilson, CRNP

Erin L. Gilson, FNP-C, was drawn to Mount Nittany Health because of its strong connection to the community. "I really missed the feeling of working in an organization where the focus was on the community," she shared. "I knew that Mount Nittany Health is tightly connected, and that was something I wanted to be a part of."

Erin's care philosophy centers around “striking a balance between quality of life and health and wellness," she explained. “While it's important to aim for optimal health, it's equally vital to maintain a good quality of life. It's a fine line that I'm committed to helping my patients navigate."

As a healthcare provider, Erin draws inspiration from her patients. "Happy patients inspire me," she shared. "When patients are feeling happy and good, that's where I draw my motivation. I really take it to heart when my patients tell me they are feeling better and healthy. It means a lot to me."

Erin is passionate about providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. She understands that some patients may feel nervous or anxious about visiting the doctor and strives to create a positive experience for everyone. "I will see any patient, even if you haven't been to a doctor in 25 years," she emphasized. "I try to make healthcare less scary. I've heard from patients that they are nervous or anxious about going to the doctor. I try to make sure they have a positive experience; that way, one more person will get the medical attention they need."

Erin holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Widener University and a Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Maryville University.

Outside of work, Erin loves spending time with her family, which includes her husband, three-year-old son, and eleven-month-old daughter. As an outdoorsy family, they try to spend as much time as possible enjoying nature together.
