About Me
Kavita Goyal, MD knew early on that she wanted to be a physician. When her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 7th grade, she told her, “When you become a doctor, treat your patients with love and compassion.” That message shaped Dr. Goyal’s approach to care and inspired her lifelong commitment to helping others.
Dr. Goyal is trained in internal medicine and weight management. After several years in practice, she realized many of her patients were struggling with obesity, the root cause of numerous health issues. Wanting to do more, she pursued board certification in obesity medicine. Helping patients lose weight, improve chronic conditions and reduce stress has become one of the most rewarding parts of her work.
She believes deeply in holistic, preventive care and emphasizes connection and long-term support. She is also passionate about patient education, focusing on behavior, nutrition, exercise and other pillars of weight management.
Board-certified in internal medicine and obesity medicine, Dr. Goyal completed medical school in Aurangabad, India, followed by residencies in Pittsburgh and New York. She previously founded the Obesity Management Program at Penn Highlands Healthcare, achieving significant success in employee wellness.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys Indian classical dance, performing on stage and spending time with her children. Her son recently published a book, inspiring her to begin writing one of her own.
