Originally from Chester County, PA, David Han, MD, is excited to be “coming home” to serve the community where his path in medicine began. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Penn State University, received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his fellowship in vascular surgery at the Mayo Clinic. He is board certified in general and vascular surgery and cares for patients with both arterial and venous disease.
Dr. Han previously served as a faculty member in the Division of Vascular Surgery at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where he held both clinical and academic leadership roles. He also currently serves as a Director of the American Board of Surgery, helping to shape the future of surgical standards and education on a national level.
Dr. Han has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2015, a distinction awarded to physicians who are nominated by their peers for excellence in care. He’s known for his expertise in treating conditions like aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease and critical limb ischemia using both traditional and minimally invasive techniques.
In recognition of his professional achievements and service, Dr. Han was honored with the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award — Penn State’s highest alumni honor.
