Catherine Adams, MD

Catherine Ann Adams, MD, is a board‑certified internal medicine physician with experience in complex respiratory disease management, critical care and evidence‑based internal medicine to her practice.

Originally from Kansas, Dr. Adams earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kansas State University before completing her medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine–Salina. She went on to complete her Internal Medicine residency at Marshall University, where she also served as a teaching attending and Associate Professor for the Department of Internal Medicine. She then completed her fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care at Marshall University.

Dr. Adams has an active research background with work focused on infective endocarditis, particularly in vulnerable populations, as well as cardiopulmonary disease processes. She has special interest and experience in the diagnosis and management of asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, pleural effusions and both diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy. She is passionate about preventive care and frequently emphasizes the lifesaving importance of smoking cessation.

Dr. Adams prioritizes ensuring that patients fully understand their treatment plans and feel empowered to participate in their care. Her goal is always to build a shared understanding of how to achieve the best possible health outcomes.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, long‑distance running, hiking, traveling, horseback riding and SCUBA diving.
