Understanding your bill

Your bill includes a detailed list of the Mount Nittany Medical Center charges for your care. If your treatment involves specialists, such as radiology, pathology or anesthesia, you may receive separate bills from those providers.

Pay through MyMountNittany

The fastest and easiest way to pay your Mount Nittany Health bill is electronically through the MyMountNittany patient portal. It’s safe, secure and convenient.

Bills from before May 29, 2026: VisitPay and SCIO

VisitPay offers additional flexibility to manage bills and payment plans in one place. SCIO handles billing for Radiation Oncology and Hematology Oncology. If you have a SCIO payment plan, you can pay it online here.

  • All charges shown are due within 30 days, and we accept Visa, Discover, Mastercard and American Express payments.

Starting Sept. 1, 2026, we’re going cashless at all our physical locations. This means you can pay for services using credit cards, debit cards or mobile payments like Apple Pay and Google Pay. Why? It’s all about making things smoother, more secure and efficient at your next visit! Don’t worry. If you prefer checks, you can still mail them in with your statement.

Paper bill opt-out instructions

If you prefer paperless billing, you can choose to go paperless by following these steps in your MyMountNittany account:

  1. Log in to your MyMountNittany portal
  2. Go to the Billing section
  3. Select “Go Paperless” and follow the prompts

If you prefer paper bills, no action is required.

How does paperless billing work, and how do I change my preferences?

You’ll be automatically enrolled in paperless billing through MyMountNittany. You’ll get email or text alerts when a new statement is ready, and you can view bills and payment history anytime.

If you prefer paper statements, you can opt out by going to Billing → Paperless Preferences in your MyMountNittany account.

Will I still get reminders and cost estimates?

Yes. You’ll receive notifications when new statements or cost estimates are available.

  • Self‑pay patients: Estimates arrive 3 days before your appointment and must be reviewed and accepted. A 55% discount is automatically applied.
  • Insured patients: Estimates include deductible, copay and coverage details. No approval needed.

Can I set up or keep a payment plan?

Yes. You can create a new payment plan directly in MyMountNittany and choose the terms that work for you. If you already have a plan with VisitPay or SCIO, you’ll continue paying through that vendor until it’s complete.
