Nominate a nurse for the DAISY Award
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day.
The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, the Barnes family deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way.
If you would like to thank a nurse who provided care to you or your family, please share your story and nominate them for a DAISY Award today by emailing DaisyAward@mountnittany.org.
Nominate a non-nursing team member
Just as a DAISY cannot bloom without the help of a BEE, outstanding care isn’t possible without the support of our incredible non-nursing team members.
The BEE Award — which stands for Be Exceptional Every Day — complements our DAISY Award by celebrating individuals whose dedication, compassion and service create a healing environment for our patients and families.
This award recognizes a wide range of staff, including but not limited to:
- Medical assistants
- Environmental services staff
- Transport aides
- Culinary services
BEE honorees play a vital role in delivering the Mount Nittany Health Experience and helping advance our mission: Healthier people. Stronger community.
Honorees will be selected by a committee and celebrated throughout the year. Each recipient receives a pin, certificate and token of appreciation.
If you know someone who exemplifies what it means to “Be Exceptional Every Day,” nominate them for the BEE Award by emailing BeeAward@mountnittany.org.
