
Mount Nittany Health Earns Fourth Consecutive “A” Grade

Mount Nittany Health is proud to announce that it has once again earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group for the Spring 2026 reporting period. This marks the fourth consecutive reporting period in which Mount Nittany Health has received Leapfrog’s highest distinction for patient safety.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is a nationally recognized benchmark that evaluates hospitals on their ability to prevent medical errors, injuries, infections and other patient safety concerns. Mount Nittany Health’s continued “A” grade reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care to patients across the region.
“Earning an ‘A’ grade for the fourth consecutive reporting period reflects the consistency and accountability our teams bring to patient care every day,” said Upendra Thaker, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Mount Nittany Medical Center. “Patient safety is foundational to everything we do at Mount Nittany Health. Mount Nittany Health has a long-standing tradition of excellence in clinical quality, consistently earning high ratings from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), including the prestigious Five-Star Overall Hospital Quality Rating for seven consecutive reporting periods. Additionally, Mount Nittany Medical Center has been named one of Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals for six consecutive years and America’s Best Maternity Hospitals for three consecutive years.
