Mount Nittany Health is proud to announce that, for the third year in a row, Mount Nittany Medical Center has been named one of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals by Newsweek.
The ranking for America’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2025 is based on three pillars including quality of care metrics, patient experience and a nationwide online survey of healthcare professionals. Over 2,500 hospitals were evaluated, and the ranking features the nation’s 444 leading maternity hospitals in the U.S.
“Being recognized as one of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals is an incredible honor that reflects the dedication of our entire care team,” said Kaitlyn Brunner, DO, an OB-GYN at Mount Nittany Health. “We are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care through every stage of pregnancy — from prenatal visits to delivery and beyond. It’s a privilege to support families during such a meaningful and life-changing time and this recognition reaffirms our promise to deliver the highest level of care to our community.”
According to Newsweek, “Bringing a new life into the world is one of the most profound and impactful experiences a family can have. However, convenient access to high-quality maternity care remains a growing challenge in many parts of the U.S. With more than one-third of U.S. counties now classified as maternity care deserts, it’s more important than ever for expectant parents to locate hospitals that provide not only exceptional care for delivery but prenatal and postpartum support as well.”
Mount Nittany Health offers resources to expecting families through a Hospital Education, Information and Resources (HEIR) class and childbirth classes. The HEIR class includes a tour of labor and delivery, along with discussions about car seats, breastfeeding and other relevant topics. Taught by nurses at Mount Nittany Medical Center, each class concludes with a Q&A session. Childbirth classes are free and offered live and online, taught by certified and experienced childbirth educators. More information is available at mountnittany.org/maternity.
