Nate Braniff, RN, Mount Nittany Health IV team, plays an important role in helping nearly every department at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He is always willing to go above and beyond to pick up extra shifts to ensure patients remain a top priority, and receive the care they need. He is kind, compassionate, and always maintains a positive and helpful attitude.
Multiple people within the organization nominated Nate for this award. While he epitomizes all of Mount Nittany Health’s values, he is being recognized for demonstrating teamwork each day for the Employee of the Month honor.
Nate’s nominators said, “Nate is always willing to help. He is kind and compassionate with patients and extremely helpful to staff. He is always willing to teach new employees or those struggling with IV insertion. Nate is one of the most team-oriented people who improves efficiency. There are times when he is the only one working the night shift and while doing so, he has to help the entire Medical Center. If we didn’t have Nate working during this time, it would impact everyone else and we truly believe some floors would have difficulty making it. Nate is very deserving of the Employee of the Month honor and he is a great example of all of our core values.”
Nate lives in Hollidaysburg and has served Mount Nittany Health as a member of the IV team since 2021. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Mount Aloysius College. He also received PICC line training, ultrasound-guided IV training, and chemotherapy administration training. Before joining our organization, he worked as an RN at Encompass Health Altoona.
Nate was honored that his colleagues nominated him for Employee of the Month and discussed what he enjoys about being part of the IV team. “The best thing about the IV team is the camaraderie we have with each other. We can always rely on each other to get the job done, no matter how difficult the situation might be.”
He also enjoys helping patients during difficult times. “Being in the hospital and being stuck with an IV is not fun,” said Nate. “If I can make that experience at least a little bit better for the patient that is my goal. I really enjoy being able to do that and I like making my colleagues’ nights a bit easier.”
When Nate isn’t busy providing exceptional care to the community, he enjoys going to the gym, playing video games, and spending time with friends and family. He is grateful for the love and support of his mother and father, Christy and Pokey Braniff; his brother and sister-in-law, Damon and Cassidy Braniff; his nieces, Elliana and Everly Braniff; and his girlfriend, Rebekah Plummer.
We are grateful to have Nate as part of our team and applaud him for exemplifying the Mount Nittany Health Experience. Please join us in congratulating him on this incredible honor. Nate, thank you for all you do for our patients, and your colleagues, and for contributing to our mission of “Healthier people, stronger community.”
