Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce Steven Pryor, Certified Orthotist, Mount Nittany Health Orthotics as its June 2024 Employee of the Month.

Steven is continually praised by his patients and colleagues alike. He is reliable and always willing to go above and beyond in every situation to do what is in the best interest of the individual he is treating. The patients who see him always remark on what a tremendous difference he’s made in their lives. The health system and community are a better place because of the remarkable care he provides.

Steven exemplifies Mount Nittany Health’s core values of caring, excellence, integrity, respect, teamwork, and stewardship. For the Employee of the Month honor, he is being recognized for epitomizing the core value of excellence each day.

His nominator said, “Steve is an amazing clinician. He has patients who come back year-after-year for his expertise. He will go above and beyond to make sure each device he works with is 100% perfect. On top of this, he makes sure each patient receives the absolute best care possible. He takes time to explain all of the reasoning behind each device so the patient is well educated and why specific devices are being ordered. He also makes sure the patient is able to properly use the device he recommends. If the individual he is serving has questions or is unsure about anything, Steve will not let them leave the facility until all of their questions are answered. He does whatever it takes to see that each of his patients receives the best care possible. Our organization is fortunate to have him. We could not ask for a better clinician or person.”

Steven currently lives in Birmingham and has been providing the community with his expertise as a Mount Nittany Health clinician for 17 years. Before joining the health system, he received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Penn State. He obtained a certificate in Orthotics from Northwestern University.

Steven was surprised and grateful to be named the June 2024 Mount Nittany Health Employee of the Month. He said, “Considering the awesome employees we have at Mount Nittany Health, receiving this award was a tremendous honor.”

When asked about his favorite part of the job, he discussed his passion for helping people through the important work he does. Steven said, “My favorite part of being a Certified Orthotist is being able to help restore mobility through the use of orthotics.”

When Steven isn’t busy making a difference in the lives of his patients, he enjoys mountain biking, ham radio, and spending time with his family and friends. He also has two adorable dogs: a corgi named Chiku and a Shih Tzu named Jazzy.
