Beth Crist, PT, Physical Therapist, Mount Nittany Medical Center Rehabilitation Department, has made a meaningful and lasting impact through her compassionate care and deep commitment to those we serve at Mount Nittany Health. Her work extends beyond the bedside, touching lives across our health system and the wider community. With a steady presence and a drive to help others, she has become a trusted source of support and encouragement for both patients and colleagues. Her actions reflect the spirit of the Mount Nittany Health Experience – a deep focus on excellence, caring, and community. Whether lending a hand to a teammate or going above and beyond for a patient, she demonstrates what it means to serve with purpose and heart. For these reasons, and so many more, she was recently named the March 2025 Mount Nittany Health Employee of the Month.
Although Beth embodies all of Mount Nittany Health’s core values, for this honor, she is being recognized for her caring demeanor.
Her nominator said, “I am honored to recommend Beth for Employee of the Month. Her dedication to her patients and the broader community is truly inspiring. Recently, she went above and beyond as a patient advocate, ensuring compassionate care for a community member/friend who was near the end of their life. She played a key role in setting up essential services, like hospice care, caregiver schedules, and obtaining all necessary equipment for the patient to spend their remaining time in the comfort of their own home. Beth graciously used her own PTO and time following work shifts to visit and care for her friend, providing not only physical support but emotional comfort as well. Her commitment to patient-centered care is a testament to her empathy and professionalism. Beyond her work at the Medical Center, she has demonstrated dedication to community service. Beth spearheaded a Giving Tree initiative at her local Elks Club, organizing the collection of warm hats, gloves, and coats for individuals in need. Her leadership in this effort has made a tangible difference, offering warmth and kindness to those facing hardship. She also actively promotes health and well-being by leading a community yoga class. Through her guidance, participants have found a space for relaxation, movement, and connection. Her passion for holistic wellness extends far beyond her role as a physical therapist, enriching the lives of many. She exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding healthcare professional – compassion, dedication, and a genuine desire to serve others. Her impact is felt not only within the hospital but throughout the entire community. For these reasons, I strongly believe Beth is more than deserving of this recognition.”
Beth has worked for Mount Nittany Health for nearly four years as a physical therapist. She graduated from Saint Francis University with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy.
Beth was deeply honored to be named Mount Nittany Health’s March 2025 Employee of the Month and applauded her colleagues and team members. She said, “I would like to thank the individual who nominated me. The rehabilitation team at Mount Nittany Health is amazing. We work extremely well together, and everyone is willing to step in and help when needed. In my 24-year career, I have worked in many different settings. Mount Nittany Health has it together!”
When Beth isn’t busy making a difference in the lives of her patients and the community, she enjoys cooking and decorating (or dreaming of both) while binge-watching the Food Network and HGTV.
She is grateful for the love and support of her husband, Tom; her daughter Ava, who is graduating from Penn State this month; and her son, Alex, who is finishing his freshman year. Their family has two dogs.
We are so honored to have Beth as part of our team and applaud her for this incredible honor. Beth, thank you for all you do for your colleagues, our patients, and the community, all while enhancing the Mount Nittany Health Experience.
