New parents pose with the first baby born at Mount Nittany Medical Center in 2023

Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce the birth of Solomon Allison, the first baby born at Mount Nittany Medical Center in 2023.

Solomon was born to proud parents Dennis and Lashae Allison from Huntington, Pa., on the morning of January 1, 2023. Solomon weighed in at 7 lbs. 6 oz. and measured 19 inches in length. One completely unbiased visitor observed, “He is absolutely adorable!” Solomon received his very first hug at Mount Nittany Medical Center, and we’re proud to welcome him to Centre County.

Each year the Joseph V. and Suzanne P. Women and Children’s Services unit welcomes more than 1,200 new babies. The unit is the largest of its kind in the region, and combines state-of-the-art technology and clinical spaces with modern design and family-centered comforts that match Mount Nittany Health’s reputation for clinical excellence.

In 2022, the U.S. News & World Report named Mount Nittany Medical Center as one of only 10 Pennsylvania hospitals to be ranked as high performing for maternity care in its list of Best Hospitals for Maternity. For more information, please visit mountnittany.org/maternity.
