It’s a boy! Mount Nittany Health welcomes first baby of 2026

Mount Nittany Health rang in the New Year with a very special arrival early this morning. Myles Peters was the first baby born at Mount Nittany Medical Center to proud parents Elliot and Caleigh Peters of Snow Shoe, Pa. Myles weighed in at 6 pounds 8 ounces of pure joy.

Welcoming the New Year’s Baby is a long-standing tradition at Mount Nittany Health — our team is honored to be part of this milestone and extends their heartfelt congratulations to the Peters family.

The Joseph V. and Suzanne P. Paterno Women and Children’s Services Unit at Mount Nittany Medical Center welcomes over 1,300 babies each year. The unit features private labor and delivery suites, advanced technology and a dedicated team of physicians, nurses and support staff focused on safety, comfort and personalized care for every family.

The quality of care provided by the Women and Children’s Services Unit continues to be nationally recognized. For the third year in a row, the unit has been named one of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals by Newsweek, highlighting Mount Nittany Health’s commitment to excellence in maternity and newborn care.

In addition to labor and delivery services, Mount Nittany Health offers a wide range of resources to support growing families, including lactation services, childbirth education classes and free access to virtual childbirth education through Birthly, allowing families to learn and prepare from the comfort of home.
