Mount Nittany Health is proud to announce the addition of a second TrueBeam linear accelerator with HyperSight imaging, along with a renovation to the treatment space. Mount Nittany Health’s first TrueBeam linear accelerator has also been upgraded to include HyperSight capabilities. These enhancements ensure seamless care for radiation oncology patients by improving access and advancing precision in cancer treatment.
The TrueBeam linear accelerator is a leading-edge system that combines image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) with precise targeting capabilities for effective cancer treatment. Its advanced technology helps doctors treat patients more accurately and confidently. With HyperSight technology, the TrueBeam delivers clear imaging and precise targeting to focus on tumors while keeping healthy tissue safe. HyperSight helps patients by taking clear images quickly in a single breath hold. This shortens treatment time, reduces discomfort and makes the experience less stressful. It also tracks lung movement while breathing to ensure treatments are safer and more accurate.
“The acquisition of a second TrueBeam linear accelerator with Hypersight imaging represents our ongoing commitment to delivering the best possible care for our patients,” said Veeral Patel, MD, Mount Nittany Health radiation oncologist. “This advanced technology allows us to treat cancers with greater accuracy and efficiency, and the newly renovated space enhances the experience for both patients and staff.”
