Because every mom deserves to feel supported.

Maternal mental health challenges are far more common than most people realize, and they impact entire families and communities. In fact, maternal mental health conditions are the leading cause of maternal mortality in the U.S. (CDC).

If you’re facing sleepless nights, identity changes, feeding struggles or the ups and downs of postpartum emotions, you’re not alone. Motherhood Unfiltered offers a warm, judgment‑free space for postpartum mothers to find connection, community and honest conversations about life after birth.

The following meetings will be at the Schlow Centre Region Library*:

  • Monday, June 1, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
  • Tuesday, July 14, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 5, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Starting September: Monthly recurring meetings (more information to come).

Bring your baby, take a breath and join a circle of women who truly get it. This group is for postpartum mothers and their babies. Siblings ages 5 and under are welcome too.

Meet your facilitators

Our sessions are guided by experienced, compassionate professionals from Mount Nittany Medical Center’s Women & Children’s Unit:

  • Rebecca Hawkins, RN, PMH‑C
  • Katie Pletcher, RN, IBCLC
  • Ann Cathcart, RN, IBCLC

They bring expertise in postpartum mental health, infant feeding and maternal wellness — along with a genuine passion for supporting new moms.

What to expect

Each gathering includes:

  • 15 minutes of introductions and a focused postpartum educational topic
  • 45 minutes of open sharing, conversation and connection

We also provide:

  • Light snacks and drinks
  • Information on local postpartum and family resources

No filters. No pressure. Just real mothers, real stories and real support. Your postpartum journey deserves community — let’s walk it together.
