Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce that it is this year's recipient of the Mimi U. Barash Coppersmith Champion Award given by the Pennsylvania Pink Zone. This award is presented annually to individuals or businesses that have demonstrated significant dedication and made outstanding contributions to Pink Zone, a cause dedicated to fighting breast cancer.

Named in honor of Mimi U. Barash Coppersmith, the award recognizes those who provide exceptional efforts in supporting the mission of Pink Zone and make a positive impact in helping those impacted by breast cancer. Past winners include Matt & Kristie Patterson (Jersey Mike's), Dan & Monteca Beisel (Confer's Jewelers), and Kish Bank.

“Mount Nittany Health is proud of our commitment to exemplary care and strong community partnerships,” said Kathleen Rhine, President and CEO, Mount Nittany Health. “This award is a testament to the dedicated providers and staff who provide high-quality, compassionate care to our patients while fulfilling our mission of ‘Healthier people, stronger community.’”

Mount Nittany Health expresses gratitude for the opportunity to be a supporter of Pink Zone, an organization that, in turn, supports the community and individuals by providing financial assistance directly to those affected by breast cancer. This support allows individuals to focus on what is most important—their health.

Mount Nittany Health received the award before the annual Penn State Lady Lions Basketball Play4Kay Game benefiting the PA Pink Zone that was held on Saturday, February 3, 2024. This much loved annual game helps support Pink Zone, by raising funds for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and other charitable organizations that support cancer patients.

Mount Nittany Health has a compassionate Breast Care Center team who are dedicated to assisting patients throughout their journey. Led by specialized breast imagers who, after five years of radiology residency, completed an extra year of training specifically focused on breast imaging, the team also includes Mammography Technologists, Clerk Receptionists, and a Patient Navigator.
