Caitlin McCarthy, PA-C joins Mount Nittany Medical Center as a critical care physician associate. As a native of State College, she returns to the area after working for Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, and with Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.

"In the ICU it is important to keep families and loved ones involved in patient care,” said Caitlin. “This ensures the patient's care is driven by their wishes."

Caitlin holds a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the Pennsylvania College of Technology. She is a licensed physician assistant in Pennsylvania, Nebraska, Virginia, Massachusetts, and California. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Currently, she is actively involved in co-authoring a book chapter on the fundamentals of critical care obstetrics.

When she is not working in the ICU at Mount Nittany Medical Center, Caitlin spends time with her family and traveling. She also plays soccer, hikes, and enjoys reading.
