Dr. Shuman was amazing. She answered my questions thoroughly and made me feel like she really cared about my concerns. I know she is very busy and sees a lot of patients each day, but I did not feel rushed through my appointment. I was very impressed by her knowledge base and ability to explain things. I hope she is taking new patients because when I discussed my visit with friends they were all interested in seeing her. I feel fortunate to have her as my doctor.

This doctor was incredibly condescending and lacked empathy or concern for my issues. She does not seem to want to find the root cause of my issues, and instead give me birth control and call it a day. I told her I did not want to be on a pill for the next 30 years, and she said verbatim, "If you have endometriosis, that's exactly what you should want." She proceeded to give me conflicting information about endometriosis- she said there is always a chance of it and that I very well could have it, and that it is degenerative and gets worse over time, then told me she doesn't suspect it and could not merit surgery to investigate further, despite me having many symptoms and many other conditions being ruled out. She told me that as my providerprescriber, the root cause of my issues "does not matter" because the treatment is birth control anyway, despite me saying that the root cause of my issues is important and that I DO NOT WANT to be on the pill for the next several years. I left this office in tears, and felt dismissed and extremely uncared for.
