Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce that Karen Cherinka, CRNP, has joined Mount Nittany Health’s Weight Management practice.
Karen earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Penn State University. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner from Graceland University in Independence, Missouri. She has provided nursing care for various providers during her career including Family Practice at Mount Nittany Health.
“Mount Nittany has such a strong presence in the community, and I wanted to be part of this talented group of providers and staff dedicated to making a difference,” Karen said. “I am especially excited to be joining the Weight Management team, providing care to people seeking to improve their health and quality of life.”
Karen is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. She received a Certificate of Advanced Education from the Obesity Medicine Association, of which she is also a member.

Karen, her husband, and her family of four children enjoy sports, outdoor activities, and live music. She is also a board member of Bridge of Hope Centre County, a faith-based charity that uses neighboring support to assist single mothers facing homelessness.
