About Me

A native of Mifflin County, Kati J. Smith, PA-C, is a nationally certified and state-licensed physician assistant specializing in orthopedics with a strong foundation in emergency medicine. Graduating with honors from Pennsylvania College of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, Kati has consistently demonstrated academic excellence and professional leadership.

“I decided on a career in healthcare because both of my grandmothers were nurses and growing up on a farm I enjoyed caring for the animals and helping injured or ill animals to get better,” says Kati.

Kati has extensive experience first-assisting in surgeries, conducting hospital rounds and managing both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Her background includes eight years in emergency medicine, followed by eight years working alongside a hand and sports-trained orthopedic surgeon, treating a wide range of injuries and conditions involving the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip and knees.

She believes in empowering patients through education, empathy and evidence-based practice. Whether treating pediatric fractures or managing complex orthopedic cases, she takes time to ensure patients understand what’s happening in their bodies and why.

Outside of work, Kati enjoys life on her family farm with her husband and two boys. Together, they host rodeos, perform in Wild West shows and share a love for horseback riding.
