Kevin Wilson, MD

"Kevin Wilson, MD, a native of Hollidaysburg, Pa., earned his biology degree, magna cum laude, from Gettysburg College and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He trained in orthopaedic surgery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland through the National Capital Consortium. After completing his residency, Dr. Wilson served in the U.S. Navy for five years at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and completed two deployments.

Following his military service, Dr. Wilson pursued advanced training in sports medicine through the UPMC Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship. There, he worked with specialists who care for professional athletes, including members of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins and University of Pittsburgh teams.

In 2014, Dr. Wilson was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal for his care of injured service members at Bethesda during his training. That same year, he participated in the American Orthopaedic Association’s Resident Leadership Forum. In 2016, he was selected as one of three surgeons nationwide for the Advanced Arthroscopic Traveling Fellowship, offered by the Arthroscopy Association of North America. In 2018, Dr. Wilson received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his role as an orthopaedic surgeon and operations officer with a surgical team in Africa. At the 2019 American Shoulder and Elbow Society’s Fellows Symposium, he was honored with the Robert H. Cofield, MD, Award for his research on shoulder injuries and return-to-sports outcomes.

Dr. Wilson is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, outdoor activities like hunting and fishing and sharing his love of sports."
