Sara M. Covone, PA-C

Sara grew up as a Mount Nittany Health patient and is eager to serve her community. “I grew up being a Mount Nittany patient and always received exceptional care,” she shared. “I wanted to be a part of others’ care in the community and give them the care that I received.”

Her approach to patient care centers on collaboration and education. “I always put the patient’s best interest first by providing them the safest and most effective care,” Sara explained.

What motivates Sara most is empowering patients through knowledge. “I am inspired to teach patients about their medical conditions and use shared decision-making to give the patients a voice in their care,” she noted.

Sara brings valuable urgent care and occupational health experience to Mount Nittany Health. Her background includes managing diverse urgent care cases, performing medical procedures such as laceration repairs and foreign body removal, and conducting comprehensive physical assessments.

Sara earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Penn College.

When not caring for patients, Sara enjoys reading multiple genres, spending time with family and friends, thrifting, and traveling.
