“My main philosophy has been to do what’s best for the patient and let the patient be a strong advocate for their own care. It’s important for me that patients feel supported and included in their care."
Shannon L. Marker, CRNP
Shannon earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Penn State University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. A native of Colorado, Shannon moved to Central Pennsylvania to pursue a degree in nursing from Penn State and decided to remain in the area as she pursued her nursing career.
Her time working as a dialysis nurse in the Philipsburg and Huntingdon communities sparked her interest in the treatment of chronic kidney disease. She was thrilled with the opportunity to work with Mount Nittany Physician Group Nephrology upon the completion of her Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
When not working, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors and reading books.

Shannon Marker was very thorough and spent a lot of time going through my family's history and my medical history. I can't say enough good things about her.
Shannon Marker is extremely thorough and fully involved during visits. She does not TYPE and gives me her full attention. She is the best provider I have seen in State College.
Shannon takes personal care of your needs and medical situation like if you were a family member. She goes over and beyond her services. You should have a facility full of her. She is beyond 5 stars.
Shannon is very "down to Earth" and willing to listen to my concerns with new meds before adding, etc.
