Overview

At Mount Nittany Health, our experienced sports medicine team focuses on the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries or conditions related to sports or physical activity. Our specialists will develop a personalized treatment plan that may include an integrated array of services like physical therapy, minimally invasive procedures, surgical management, and preventative training so you can get back to the activities and sports you enjoy.

Injury rehabilitation is not always quick, but we will help you understand how your injury occurred, so by the time you get back to playing, you can prevent it from happening again.

Our Sports Medicine team focuses on wellness and increasing sports participation for all ages.

Sports Medicine Programs

  • Athletic Training Program
    • Dr. Kevin Wilson and the team at Mount Nittany Health Orthopedics are proud to be the sports medicine providers for the State College Area School District athletic teams. In addition to providing comprehensive orthopedic care, the athletic trainers are the front-line providers of sports medicine services including the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention of athletic injuries directly to the athletes at the school.

  • Concussion Program
    • Mount Nittany Health Orthopedics recently completed and executed a detailed concussion protocol for student athletes that streamlines the treatment process to ensure a safe and timely return to play that includes:
      • Concussion baseline testing for our partnered schools
      • Close and timely follow up care with monitored neurocognitive testing for athletes diagnosed with a concussion
      • Proper return to play restrictions
      • Confident clearance for full participation
