Mount Nittany Health is pleased to recognize April 16 – 22 as National Volunteer Week, a time when we celebrate the friendly faces in the blue coats that you see at the Medical Center. National Volunteer Week recognizes the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to tackle society’s greatest challenges, build stronger communities and be a force that transforms the world.
Mount Nittany Health is fortunate to have more than 50 incredible volunteers who go above and beyond to help us provide compassionate care to the community. From greeting patients with warm smiles, to helping guests find their loved ones, to assisting with everyone’s favorite “Milkshake Monday” in the Gift Shop, they bring extra hands and a ton of heart to everything they do.
“The volunteers are an integral part of the health system team,” said Ali Kollar, MSN, BSN, NP-C, RN, Manager, Endoscopy. “They provide support for our staff and care for our patients. Without them, we would not be able to run as efficiently as we do. Thank you to all the volunteers, we greatly appreciate everything you do!”
There are many volunteer opportunities to assist staff, patients, their families, and visitors, at the Medical Center. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering at the Medical Center, please call 814.231.7836.
Kathleen Rhine, President and CEO of Mount Nittany Health expressed her appreciation by saying, “On behalf of Mount Nittany Health’s patients, team members, and the community we serve, we offer our most sincere thanks to all of our volunteers. We know their time is valuable, and we are very pleased they choose to spend some of it with us. They are making an incredible difference!”
This week and every week, we are so grateful for all our volunteers do, and for contributing to Mount Nittany Health’s mission of “Healthier People. Stronger Community.”
