Pharmacy Department
Last year, Mount Nittany Medical Center’s Pharmacy Department launched a program to recognize its incredible team members who go above and beyond, day in and day out, to uphold Mount Nittany Health’s six organizational values. The pilot program was overwhelmingly positive, with 288 votes submitted over the course of the year-long program. Many team members submitted votes each month to offer positive feedback to their fellow colleagues. Additionally, dozens of supporting comments were delivered which helped to highlight how Pharmacy team members recognize Mount Nittany Health’s core values in each other.
“Teamwork is non-negotiable. We rise and fall as a team. I know I can rely on the people I work with and take pride in knowing that they can count on me, too.”
Lexie Lindner, PharmD, BCCCP, developed the program and was thrilled by its success: “This program was a joy to be a part of. It felt like we had stumbled on something mostly hidden within the department, highlighting all of the great things we think about each other but rarely say out loud.”
Lexie noted that when reading all of the comments submitted during the program, she frequently thought of one quote: “Positivity costs nothing, but is worth substantially more.”
Before joining the Mount Nittany Medical Center Pharmacy team, Lexie earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with honors in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin. At the University of Washington she received a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), including induction into the Rho Chi honor society and Pharmacy Leadership Society. Lexie’s postgraduate one year residency was completed at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
For eight years, Lexie has provided exceptional care to Mount Nittany Medical Center patients. She is a clinical pharmacist and also the coordinating pharmacist for the Emergency Department, stroke committee, new provider orientation, epidural pump programming, and annual pharmacy week celebration. She is also heavily involved in Mount Nittany Medical Center’s antimicrobial stewardship program and intensive care unit services.
We applaud Lexie’s commitment to excellence and celebrate her commitment to our mission “Healthier people, stronger community.”
