Mount Nittany Health is pleased to introduce Ann Colton, CRNP, a new Primary Care provider, in our Mifflin County location. With her deep-rooted passion for rural healthcare, Ann brings a unique perspective and skill set to our team.

Ann’s family of healthcare professionals influenced her career path, making healthcare a natural choice. “It’s always been what I wanted to do,” she shared. With her background in emergency medicine and recent certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she is well-equipped to care for people of all ages and various conditions. “I’m still a jack of all trades, master of none,” Ann continued. “I prefer the mix; I like that every day is different.”

Ann was drawn to the organization as a long-time patient of Mount Nittany Health. “I’ve always had a wonderful experience here,” she said. “The high-quality care I received made me want to be a part of this organization.”

Ann’s philosophy of care is rooted in her passion for rural healthcare. “I’m very passionate about delivering high-quality care to residents of rural areas,” she explained. “Patients should have the right to receive good care no matter where they are.”

As a Mifflin County native, Ann feels a strong connection to the community she serves. “This is my community, and I am very excited to be back to provide care for them,” she shared. “Working in Mifflin County, was allows me to be a driving force in improving community experience and engagement.”

Ann encourages her patients not to be afraid to seek care. “Come see me, have a chat,” she invites. “Preventative care and annual checkups are important to avoid more serious health concerns, and I am here to work with you in an active partnership to ensure you receive the care you need.”

Outside of work, Ann is often at the ball field or basketball court supporting her teenaged son’s active sports life. She recently took up yoga, appreciating its benefits for the mind, body, balance, and exercise.

Ann holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Penn State and brings years of experience as an emergency room staff nurse and charge nurse.

With her passion for rural care, extensive emergency medicine experience, and commitment to patient experience and education, Ann is poised to significantly impact Mount Nittany Health. Her expertise and dedication will greatly benefit our patients and the communities we serve.
