Mount Nittany Health welcomes Sarah E. Bork, MD, to the Mount Nittany Health Hospitalist team. Bork’s decision to join Mount Nittany Health is driven by her deep connection to the region, passion for patient care, and dedication to providing exceptional medical services.
Bork pursued this step in her career to be closer to her family in Ohio and Pennsylvania. With a brother-in-law residing in the area, she has experienced firsthand the appeal of this region as a beautiful place to live and raise her family, which includes her 8-year-old daughter.
“I was warmly welcomed by the hospitalist team when I came to interview, and their approach to patient care resonates with my practice style,” Bork said. “I was particularly impressed by the commitment and professionalism of our providers, nurses, and staff.”
Bork completed her medical education at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, earning a Doctor of Medicine and consistently ranking in the top third of her class.
Bork graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, achieving the highest honors in her field of study. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.
Her 20 years of healthcare experience in Seattle equipped her with valuable experience within a regional health system similar to Mount Nittany Health. Her approach to patient care is marked by her commitment to making the best clinical decisions based on sound judgment and up-to-date clinical knowledge. Building solid relationships with her patients is a priority for Bork, who believes fostering trust is essential in delivering the highest quality of care.
As a Hospitalist, Bork specializes in caring for hospitalized adults. She is particularly interested in liver disease and heart failure, where her expertise shines.
When Bork is not treating patients at Mount Nittany Medical Center, she is a devoted mother to her 8-year-old daughter. Her hobbies reflect her love for the outdoors, including hiking, fishing, and camping. She is also passionate about backpacking, recently completing several sections of the Pacific Crest Trail in Washington State. Bork has a solid commitment to her profession and has actively contributed to the field of Hospital Medicine. She has worked with the Society of Hospital Medicine and has been involved with the Pacific Northwest Chapter, serving as the Director of Finance.
Although Bork has leadership experience, she truly loves providing hands-on medical care. Her strengths lie in her wealth of knowledge, which ranges from straightforward cases to managing complex medical conditions.
Mount Nittany Health is honored to have Bork as part of our healthcare team and look forward to the positive impact she will make on the lives of those she serves.
